Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill is set for new contract talks.

The Bolton Evening News says Wanderers plan to resume talks with Cahill over an extended contract after he returns from his summer break.

Cahill, who signed a three-and-a-half year contract in January 2008, is regarded as one of the Premier League's most highly-rated young defenders.

Talks over a new deal have been put on hold with the centre-back away on international duty.
