Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is sweating on new contract talks.

The Telegraph says Cahill is waiting to learn whether he can agree a new contract before Dec 19, when he will turn 30.

Cahill's deal expires in 2017 and talks over an extension stalled after opening in 2014.

The delay means that the central defender will only be offered a one-year extension if he does not agree a contract before his 30th birthday.
