Cagliari midfielder Davide Biondini was delighted with his first start for Italy in last night's friendly win over Sweden.

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini earned the winner on the night.

"It all went very well, it's a shame I didn't score that first half chance. It was on my left foot and I know these are things I need to improve," said Biondini.

"It was a good game from everyone and therefore a positive signal from the entire squad.

"There are so many great champions in the side and I do take some inspiration from Gattuso, as I try to bring a little grit to the field. They are legends and we will try everything we can to achieve the same."
