Cagliari defender Godin: Ask Conte why I left Inter Milan

Cagliari defender Diego Godin has revisited his departure last year from Inter Milan.

The former Atletico Madrid captain had one year with the Nerazzurri before leaving for Cagliari.

Godin recalled of his time with Inter: "We only had to win. We finished in second place in Serie A and in the final of the Europa League. We were one step away from a historic season, the team hadn't played in a European final for ten years."

Asked why he left, Godin added: “You should ask (Antonio) Conte, (Beppe) Marotta and (Piero) Ausilio. It was the coach's decision. I had a three-year contract."

He added: "For now, I want to play. I will continue working in the world of football, I could say anywhere. I see myself in many roles."
