Yohan Cabaye made his Crystal Palace debut in their friendly defeat at Union Berlin.
Cabaye was one of a number of substitutes at half-time as Alan Pardew made wholesale changes to his side following a goalless opening half.
But it was the hosts who would celebrate victory after Steven Skrzybski netted a second-half double in Germany.
It was a disappointing afternoon for the France international and he'll be hoping for better luck when the south London club travel to South Africa to compete in the Cape Town Cup next week.
