Mario Gotze could be handed a new contract by Borussia Dortmund.

The midfielder has been linked with West Ham and Everton as his deal runs down.

But Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told Sky Deutschland: "Everything is on ice at the moment.

"But it is clear that the conversation with Mario will be resumed at some point."

Gotze has only managed six starts for Dortmund this season out of his 19 appearances, and has not featured for the national team since 2016.
