Real Madrid legend Emilio Butragueno has welcomed the prospect of early presidential elections in May.
Butragueno, who has been vice-president of Real, said: "The new president is the one who has to make a new strategy. I hope that the future will be better and more stable.
"It would be better for the chairman to get to work straight away. He will have more time to prepare his executives for the coming season.
"I am not going with any candidate and it is not easy to select one because, first, I do not know for sure who is going to be available and if there is one who I can help in some way, I cannot make assumptions."
