Butland eyeing another top-half finish with Stoke

Jack Butland has revealed that Stoke City are eyeing another top half finish during the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Stoke have made rapid progress under Mark Hughes over the last two years and their fine 9th place finish last season was a testament to this fact.

Having made a couple of quality additions to the squad this summer, Stoke look very strong once again and goalkeeper Butland has revealed that the Potters are aiming for a top ten finish in the Premier League.

Butland told the Stoke Sentinel: "I feel in great shape; the best shape I ever have done, probably from having a short summer. My performances will do the talking and I'm thoroughly looking forward to taking this opportunity.

"The guys are looking good and looking fit. We've played tough teams in pre-season so results wise it might not have always been positive, but we've got to test ourselves.

"I want to test myself at the highest level – and that's what the manager wants for us all. We want to see how far we can get as a team. That's targeting a higher finish than last year and going again."
