Burnley have warned Owen Coyle off raiding Turf Moor to strengthen his new Bolton Wanderers squad.

The Daily Star says Coyle, a former Bolton player, would like Burnley's Chris Eagles, Steven Fletcher and Stephen Jordan to join him as he swaps one relegation fight for another.

But Burnley, already angry because they still have not given permission for an approach from Bolton, will put the block on any transfers to their Lancashire neighbours.

A club spokesman said: "If Owen joins Bolton - and he isn't their manager yet - we would expect a gentleman's agreement that none of our players are poached."
