Burnley striker Fletcher: Premiership experience a real education

Former Hibs striker Steven Fletcher admits his first weeks at Burnley have been an education.

"The last few weeks have been a real education for me but it's been good so far," he said. "I think I've settled in all right. Pre-season training was a lot more challenging than I was expecting, but as a result I felt a lot sharper and quicker. So I think I've adapted to it all well.

"People say the Premiership is half a yard quicker than the SPL but I would say it's more like two yards quicker. It's been a good challenge for me so far but I've enjoyed it. It's a lot different from the SPL in terms of the games we are playing in.

"Last weekend we played Chelsea which was a new experience for me, going to Stamford Bridge and tracking Ashley Cole up and down the wing all afternoon. I think I slept all day after that."
