Burnley striker Chris Wood hoping for injury free season

Burnley striker Chris Wood is counting on an injury free season.

Last term, Wood's record of 10 goals in 20 starts, and four substitute appearances in the league, meant his strike-rate of one in two was impressive for a player who had featured in just eight top flight games previously.

"I'm pleased with that record and hopefully I can continue that for years to come. I keep striving to do better and become a better player," the 26-year-old told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"If I can get to 15 or 20 I think everybody will be extremely happy, me included, the gaffer included and the fans included.

"You've got to take it season by season and see where you can go."
