Burnley have signed teenage goalkeeper George McMahon from within their Development Squad.

The 18-year-old starlet agreed a two-year deal and is looking forward to plying his trade at Turf Moor.

"To have the opportunity to be at a club with this status and the facilities it has, I'm really, really chuffed," he said.

"To be a professional footballer is a dream come true, but it is obviously a small step.

"There is a long way to go, but if I can use the opportunity I've been given and make the most of every area of the club – the sports science and all the training facilities – hopefully I can maximise my potential and see where it takes me."
