Derby boss Wayne Rooney is one of the names being discussed within the Burnley dressing room to fill the vacant hotseat at Turf Moor.
Football fans were left stunned when it was announced on Friday that the Clarets had sacked Sean Dyche as manager. Dyche was the Premier League's longest-serving boss, having been at the club for nine-and-a-half years.
The Athletic reports that Rooney is a name "being discussed" within the dressing room.
The former Manchester United star is currently in charge of Derby County, and oversaw a surprise win against Championship leaders Fulham last night.
Rooney had previously been tipped to take over at Goodison Park before Everton turned to Frank Lampard.
