Sheffield Wednesday for Mark Beevers is wanted by new Burnley boss Brian Laws.

The Mirror says Laws is keen to strengthen his defence as he bids to keep his side in the Premier League.

Laws wanted to sign Sheffield United's Matthew Kilgallon in a £1.75m deal but, despite having a bid accepted, the defender opted to remain at Bramall Lane.

Now Laws will turn to Owls centre-back Beevers in the hope of landing him in a deal worth around £800,000.
