Burnley fullback Mears: Jamaica cap won't block England dream

Burnley fullback Tyrone Mears admits he wants to play for England.

Mears wants to fulfil his dream of playing for England - despite already making his international debut for Jamaica and hopes Fabio Capello notices despite appearing for the Reggae Boyz last season.

He said: "I want to play for England. That was why I came to Burnley, to play against the best teams and give myself a platform.

"I played for Jamaica when [then manager] John Barnes gave me a call. I wanted a game at the time because I was out injured at Marseille and they didn't have a second team.

"It was just a friendly, so it doesn't make any difference or stop me playing for England and that is my aim."
