Burnley captain Ben Mee: Sheffield Utd defeat not good enough

Burnley captain Ben Mee admits their performance wasn't good enough as his 300th game for the club ended in a crushing defeat.

A 3-0 reverse at Sheffield United made it three successive losses for Sean Dyche's side to take the gloss off a major milestone for the Clarets' captain.

“We're really disappointed with the result and the performance. We weren't at it and it wasn't good enough," Mee told the club's website.

“It was disappointing to come to my 300th game and have a performance like that.

“They caused us problems and we couldn't get to grips with it.

“Against a good Chelsea side last week we conceded four and then a couple against Leicester.

“It's not something we're used to – conceding goals. We will put it right and we will come back strongly. We'll have to make sure that doesn't happen again."
