Burnley boss Sean Dyche satisfied with friendly win at Shamrock Rovers

Burnley boss Sean Dyche was happy with their 4-0 friendly win at Shamrock Rovers.

Dyche played two separate teams in either half but goals from Jon Walters, Ashley Barnes, Robbie Brady and Sam Vokes helped Burnley to a comfortable victory.

"I thought generally there were some good habits shown by the team," Dyche said. "We're only one week in and they do have a break in the summer, less so for a few of the international lads.

"It takes your body and mind a while to remember what it's doing and the role that you play and all the little details and I thought they delivered it well actually.

“I'm really pleased. We all know that it's about getting players fit in the right way, so they don't break.

“I came to the Shamrock game (in the Europa League) on Thursday night, so we knew they would field a young side, but you know what it's like when they do; they are going to run hard and I thought they did.

“There is a good feel to the club here at Shamrock. I really feel they've got something going and they gave us a really good challenge, but we managed to get 45 minutes into most of the players.

Jon Walters just came off to be careful because he's just getting used to what we do and we don't want any niggles."
