Burnley boss Dyche rubbishes Aston Villa reports

Sean Dyche has played down speculation suggesting he is set to become Aston Villa's new manager.

On Tuesday, bookmakers placed the Burnley boss as the new favourite to step into the role vacated by Roberto Di Matteo but the 45-year-old has absolutely no intention of leaving Turf Moor anytime soon.

That is according to Sky Sports who has reported that Dyche is keen to remain with Burnley and continue his goal of establishing the Lancashire club in the Premier League.

Villa owner Dr Tony Xia is considering the club's options at this stage and it is understood that former Hull City boss Steve Bruce and current interim manager Steve Clarke are at the top of the list.

Dyche joined the Clarets in 2012 and last season, lead them to England's top flight for the second time following their initial promotion under his guidance in 2014.
