Crystal Palace boss George Burley fears being priced out of a deal for Everton striker James Vaughan.
Hull City and Leicester City are monitoring the situation and could be better placed to meet Everton's valuation.
"I have spoken to David Moyes [Everton's manager] and he has given me the ball park figure that it would cost to get James back," the Eagles chief told the Croydon Advertiser.
"David obviously rates the player quite highly and the figure they are looking for reflects that.
"It's down to whether we can afford the financial side of the deal now and whether James himself is happy to return."
