Burch backed for success after Spurs release

Tottenham goalkeeper coach Hans Segers is confident released shot-stopper Robert Burch has a big future in the game.

Segers told the Spurs website: "When Burchy broke his leg I told him that football is about ups and downs and you'll have more downs than ups. I knew he would come back mentally stronger and he also came back physically stronger, so for something bad, something good came out of it.

"He went on loan, played a few times and he had that good season in 2003-04 when Glenn Hoddle was manager when he was on the bench for almost half of the season, so he takes that experience with him. He's nearly 100 per cent fit again and wherever he goes, I'm sure he will make a success of it."
