Bruno Guimaraes is confident Newcastle United is the right choice for him.

The former Lyon midfielder signed for Newcastle last week for a fee rising to €50m.

He told RMC: "There has been a lot of interest, speculation and commentary. But I made the right choice by signing for Newcastle. I can't wait to play in these new colours.

"I was aware that Lyon is going through a difficult period due to the pandemic. I have never hidden my desire to play in England. It was therefore a superb opportunity to join an ambitious project in search of success.

"With my father, we talked a lot about this opportunity to sign at Newcastle, he was very happy."
