Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes is eyeing a new shirt number at the club.
Fernandes currently dons the no.18 shirt, which he has worn since his signing from Sporting CP.
However, his favorite no.8 is now vacated, as veteran Juan Mata is departing the club this summer.
According to the Mirror, Fernandes is likely to ask for the no.8 now that it is free.
"There are a lot of reasons for the No. 18," Fernandes had said about his shirt number when he signed for United.
"It's a number I like.
"The last three years I have played as No. 8 because it's the number my father had as a player and my birthday [date] and it's the number I like.
"No. 18 is also the birthday of my wife and another reason is, when I grew up, I saw Paul Scholes playing in it and for me having this shirt and this number of an amazing player is something I will enjoy. I have a lot of responsibility."
