Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has explained why he chose not to compete with Derby for his former Birmingham midfielder Robbie Savage.
Savage is poised to make his Derby County debut against Wigan tomorrow.
"If he'd been 22 instead of 33, then maybe I would have," Bruce said.
