Brown Ideye was pleased to make his debut for West Bromwich Albion in their 0-0 draw at Southampton.
The Nigeria striker enjoyed 40 minutes at St Mary's.
"It was a good debut but I really wanted to score today," Ideye told the WBA website.
"The first header was close, in my mind it was in, I saw the ball and anticipated a move to the back post, I was unlucky.
"The second chance, I made a great turn but the 'keeper came out very quickly and it was a good save."
