Celtic captain Scott Brown was thrilled with the hard-working nature of his team in Wednesday night’s Champions League triumph over Spartak Moscow.

The Hoops qualified for the Round of 16 courtesy of the 2-1 home victory over the Russians and Brown was pleased with how much his teammates toiled for the success of the Glasgow outfit.

"It's fantastic," said Brown. "The lads worked so hard. In the last five minutes we thought the game was never going to end.

"Credit where credit's due, we worked really hard, created chances and scored goals. We knew we were good at home. The fans were phenomenal, they kept us going for the 90 minutes."

Kris Commons converted form the penalty spot in the 81st minute to give Celtic the win after Gary Hooper’s 21st minute opener was canceled out by Spartak’s Ari six minutes before the break.
