Brondby down Liverpool in pre-season friendly

Danish club Brondby have beaten Liverpool 2-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Brondby Stadion.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers started with an usual XI which consisted of such senior names as Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Agger, Lucas Leiva and returning striker Fabio Borini.

Less than 25 minutes into the contest, Brondby took the lead when Christian Norgaard curled home from 20 yards.

Three minutes into the second half, Liverpool levelled through Kristoffer Peterson who finished a neat cut-back from fellow half-time substitute Jordon Ibe.

However, Brondby grabbed a late winner through Ferhan Hasani who waltzed past a host of Reds defenders before firing home from with a well-struck right-footed effort.
