Bristol City owner Lansdown urges Chelsea to give Abraham chance

Chelsea are being urged to keep hold of Tammy Abraham.

The young striker has been outstanding on-loan with Bristol City this season.

And City owner Steve Lansdown said: “Tammy is an incredible talent because he's a towering 6ft 3in striker and yet he's almost like Gary Lineker when it comes to scoring goals.

“Tammy doesn't seem to score many from outside the box but he has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time to slot the ball home when it's bouncing around in the penalty area.

Gary Lineker always seemed to be there or thereabouts all the time and so does Tammy.

“He's got an eye for an opening and that's down to the fact that he's clever. But he's got a clinical side to his game, which is what marked out Gary Lineker.

“You can never budget for things like injuries but he's got the ability to prosper in the Premier League — and hopefully for Chelsea, because that's his ambition.

“I think he'll do well in there because Tammy scores goals — and plenty of them."

He added: “Chelsea can attract the best strikers in the world so Tammy may have to bide his time.

“He's got a great work ethic and attitude to football, so who knows what might happen. But I'm sure he'll get a chance to prove himself."
