Bristol City are close to securing the services of Liverpool youngster Sergi Canos, according to reports from the Liverpool Echo.

Canos impressed during his loan spell in the Championship with Brentford last season and he even managed to make his debut for Liverpool during the final Premier League week, in an encounter against West Bromwich Albion.

As a result, it was widely expected that the Spaniard would be challenging for a spot in the Liverpool first team during the upcoming campaign but in surprise reports, revelations can be made that Championship outfit City are on the verge of signing the 19-year-old for a fee believed to be in the region of around £2.5 million.
