Bristol City chairman Colin Sexstone is pondering who will replace as boss the recently axed Keith Millen, knowing the appointment will show just how ambitious the Robins are. The Championship outfit are bottom of the table with just one win from their first 10 matches.
Sexstone, who has placed Millen's assistant Steve Wigley in temporary charge, told the club's official website: "This period is a real marker for the club really.
"Are we a club that has ambitions? Does Bristol as a city have ambitions? We are where we are at the bottom of the table. But in the next days or weeks we will be appointing a new manager.
"Everyone will have their own view on who the new manager should be, as is the case in football, but we're the ones who have to carry out that search.
"We will make a selection that we feel will be right for the club - and then it's absolutely paramount this club and its fanbase gives the new manager support. Nothing can be more important than that as we look to kick-start our season."
