Bristol City boss Cotterill welcomes deal for Aston Villa striker Callum Robinson

Bristol City have snapped up Aston Villa striker Callum Robinson.

Bristol City have signed Robinson on a season-long loan.

A regular England youth international, Northampton-born Robinson, 20, is a product of Villa's Academy setup.

Robinson has made five appearances for Villa, all as a substitute.

"He's the type of player we've been looking to bring in. Someone who can play wide left in a three or in one of the striking roles," said Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill.

"Callum is a young player who will bring bundles of pace and energy, similar to Ryan (Fredericks). He's also brave and has a knack for nicking a goal.

"I'm delighted we've been able to secure the signing of two young players in Ryan and Callum in time for the first game of the season and wish them luck for the campaign ahead."
