Brisbane Roar midfielder Henrique is on the verge of a return from a knee injury he suffered five weeks ago. The Brazilian winger returned to full training today and came through unscathed which was a great sight for Roar officials and fans.
The 24-year old said he was delighted to be back training and is eyeing the home fixture against the Melbourne Victory after this weekend's international break as a potential comeback date.
"It's a big achievement for me," Henrique said.
"Today was the first session that I actually trained with the boys, touching the ball and working normally.
"Fitness-wise I feel really good but my touch is not 100 per cent yet. In the next two weeks hopefully I can work my way back to full form and be ready for Melbourne.
"First of all I have to train really hard this week to impress (coach) Ange (Postecoglou) and show that I deserve to make the squad," he added.
"If I can do that I will play 100 per cent for as long as I can (against Melbourne), so if I last 45 or 60 minutes at least I will have given all I can."
Brisbane Roar's next match in the Hyundai A-League is on Saturday, 21 November against Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium.
