Brighton skipper Adam Webster admitted frustration after their 1-1 draw with West Brom last night.

Albion, captained by Webster for the first time, led until the 82nd minute thanks to an own goal by Jake Livermore but Karlan Grant equalised for the Baggies.

Webster told the club's website, "We were the better team in the first half but in the second half we never had any control of the game.

"West Brom were obviously going to push on because they had nothing to lose but we were sloppy on the ball and that played into their hands a little bit, we invited the pressure.

"That is where we need to be better, see the game out and come away with a 1-0 win having not played that well.

"For their goal I have tried to get something on it which as a defender is your natural instinct. If I'd left it Ben [White] would probably have cleared it

"It's a case of not inviting too much pressure and trying to manage the game better. Perhaps it's a little bit down to inexperience but our structure in the second half probably wasn't as good as the first and that's why we didn't play so well."

There was a personal milestone for Webster, who led the side in the absence of the suspended Lewis Dunk.

"I knew I was one of the candidates so it was a nice moment for me to step up when Dunky isn't there."
