Brighton midfielder Davy Propper is hopeful he can become a key player for the Netherlands under Ronald Koeman.
The great footballing nation was plunged into crisis last year when they failed to qualify for the World Cup. And former Everton boss Koeman has been tasked with leading De Oranje's revival.
And for his part, Propper wants to be apart of the new era in Dutch football.
"For us it's a new phase in the national team," he told The Argus.
"We don't go to the World Cup so we have to build a team for the European Championships.
"There are new players now who need to stand up.
"But we need some time. From now the younger players are going to bigger clubs. The players are growing and after that I think the national team will also be on a good level."
