Brighton defender Estupinan: We're proud of Ecuador flags amongst fans

Brighton defender Pervis Estupinan is grateful to Seagulls fans for their support.

Estupinan says that he, Jeremy Sarmiento and Moises Caicedo look out for Albion supporters with Ecuador flags at games.

“It fills us with pride because it means we are doing well and we are very grateful," the 25-year-old told the club's website. “We are sent messages from people in Ecuador who wake up very early to watch us. That motivates us because we want to make our country proud.

“I am happy about everything that has happened since I arrived here. The fans welcomed me in the best way possible and that is why I want to pay them back for all the support and kindness they have shown me by playing well in every game."

Estupinan reckons he's playing the best football of his career now as he continues to impress for Roberto De Zerbi's team at left-back.

“This is a very good moment for me in my career. Everything is going well and I am very happy.

“I am trying to make the most of every game - trying to play well, at my best level so that I can keep on improving."
