Brighton boss Potter: Really good performance for Norwich draw

Brighton boss Graham Potter appreciated the fans' support of Neal Maupay after their 0-0 draw with Norwich City.

Maupay missed a first-half penalty, but he was applauded around the stadium by the supporters when he made his way back to the bench after being substituted in the second period.

“It wasn't to be for Neal which can happen, but I thought the reaction of the supporters towards him was fantastic so a huge thank-you to them," said Potter. "It wasn't his day today but I'm sure it will be his day another day."

Albion dominated for long spells but couldn't break through although Potter was pleased with how his side played and happy to at least end a run of six successive defeats.

He added, “The performance was really good. We tried to attack and use our width with Tariq [Lamptey] and Solly [March] and they didn't threaten too much.

“The bit we haven't done well enough is put the ball into the net and that's why we came away with one point instead of three.

“I'd rather have this feeling than the one I have had for the previous six games. At least we picked up something and our performance was strong. Our level had dropped but I can't complain too much about today apart from the [scoring goals] bit so that is a positive for us."
