Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi is being discussed inside Liverpool.

New Reds sporting chief Richard Hughes tried to bring De Zerbi to former club Bournemouth and played against him in Italian youth football.

The Sun says De Zerbi is being considered at Liverpool as they prepare for Jurgen Klopp's departure at the end of the season.

Hughes made his move for the Italian last season after Scott Parker's sacking, but Brighton were able to act quicker.

De Zerbi has stated he wants to get to the end of this season before considering his options.
