Brighton have received a boost in their pursuit of Arsenal attacker Joel Campbell.

Sporting CP have decided to pass on the option of signing the Costa Rican permanently.

O Jogo says Chris Hughton's Premier League-bound side could be set to sign him.

Campbell, who joined Sporting last year after previous stints at Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal, has scored just three goals in 30 appearances this season.

He arrived with big expectations but the 24-year-old has not fulfilled the promise on the pitch.
