The agent of Matteo Brighi admits the midfielder is upset with delays over new contract talks with Roma.
"Of course the player is bitter and disappointed," agent Vanni Puzzolo explained. "He wanted to sort the situation out before going on holiday and before starting the new season.
"While with other players the club has been able to reach an agreement, there hasn't even been a meeting for him."
Brighi featured in last night's 3-0 Italy victory over Northern Ireland and has been amongst Roma's most consistently impressive players this season.
"His market value has quadrupled compared to a year ago and his wages should be adjusted accordingly.
"Contracts are negotiated and tweaked. If it had been after a disastrous season then the club would have tried to sell him or reduce his wages."
