Matteo Brighi is staying with Roma.

Despite interest from Celtic, the midfielder has agreed terms on a new four-year deal with Roma in the last 24 hours.

His agent, Vanni Puzzolo, revealed: "The contract is agreed and is ready to be signed and submitted. For now, we have had a meeting with Roma, in which we have clarified things with the club and now know that Matteo Brighi is part of the Giallorosso project - and we are proud.

"For us this was very important. We wanted a contract renewal to be convinced of this, not of convenience."
