Brentford ace Andre Gray is drawing inspiration from QPR striker Charlie Austin.
The Championship player of the month for November was plying his trade for non-league minnows Hinckley United two years ago.
Gray told the Fulham Chronicle: "I would love to replicate what they have done. There has been talk of an England call-up for Austin, so it just shows anything can happen. You've seen the likes of Rickie Lambert do it as well.
"I had never started a game in the Football League before I came here, never mind the Championship. I've come from non-league and it's a big step up. I've done that and hopefully I can do that again.
"I think I'm still a bit raw. It's taking some defenders by surprise which can help me, but it can also be my biggest downfall as well. I need to mix it up.
"I was taken back by some of the teams and players we were coming up against at first, but I'm comfortable at this level now and have more to give."
