Brentford rejected the chance to take Mason Greenwood on-loan last week.

The Manchester United forward joined Getafe on-loan last Friday ahead of the summer market's closure.

The Athletic says Brentford was offered Greenwood by United last week, but declined taking on the youngster given the baggage he is carrying.

United and Greenwood agreed he should leave the club after the conclusion of an internal investigation having been cleared in February of assault.

He joins Getafe on-loan for the season.
