Hull City are poised to complete the signing of Moses Odubajo from Brentford.
After selling James Chester to West Bromwich Albion recently, Hull have been in the market for defensive reinforcements and the Tigers had moved swiftly to pursue Bees ace Odubajo.
It can now be confirmed by Hull manager Steve Bruce that the Tigers have activated Odubajo's release clause and the 22-year-old defender is set to arrive at the KC Stadium imminently.
Hull are also looking to tie up a season-long loan for Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom.
Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail: "We've triggered the release clause (with Brentford).
"They're (Odubajo and Akpom) up in Hull ahead of medicals. All being well, I hope we can get them over the line. I'm never going to count my chickens but they're just the type I'm looking for.
"I've got to add an injection of young, hungry players to go with the experienced ones we've got. I believe that's the best way of approaching the Championship and let's hope I'm right."
