Brentford boss Thomas Frank hailed his 'showman' as Ivan Toney made his comeback on Saturday.
Toney scored in victory over Nottingham Forest as he returned from his eight month betting ban.
"There is always noise in football," said Frank. "It is part of the show isn't it? The show must go on. It is a circus.
"I agree with you (Toney attracts attention) but there are two very important things in that. Firstly, he is performing very much and has done that for a long time. Half a goal a game. That is unbelievably impressive. He is playing for Brentford in the Premier League.
"Also, his personality is unbelievable. He is fantastic around the group. He cares about his team-mates and the staff. You see the energy he brings every day; the positivity, the smile, the banter. He speaks to everyone. That is a huge quality.
"His emotional intelligence is sky high."
