Daniel Alves is proud to be in Qatar with Brazil's World Cup squad.
At 39, the Pumas defender's selection has been questioned at home.
But Alves said: "No matter what tournament it is, whether it is a friendly or a World Cup, representing my country is something that makes me very proud. Being able to close the circle playing a World Cup makes me very happy.
"My mission is to do my best for the team. In the two games that I have not been, the team needed a defender, I am more of an attacker. I am to serve Brazil. If I have to play drums, I will be the best drummer. Give me a mission and I will execute it.
"If I were playing in Barcelona this would not happen. In Brazil you always have to find someone to criticise, as the rest of the players are in great teams in Europe, it has touched me.
"Many people question it because of my age, because it is not at my best, but for a World Cup you don't have to be well in the team, you have to be fine in the World Cup and that is what I have done since 2003. That's why I'm here."
