Brazil football legend Pele believes David Beckham's MLS expansion franchise will be a success.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy star is hoping to have his Miami franchise enter MLS in 2017 after they secure a brand new stadium in the downtown Miami area.
There has been plenty of criticism regarding the new team, especially after other Miami sports franchises have failed to attract massive crowds in recent times, but New York Cosmos honorary president Pele does not agree.
"To have a name like Beckham is very important," Pele told the Miami Herald.
"Everybody knows I came here with the [New York] Cosmos [of the old NASL] to promote soccer and now you have a player like Beckham doing the same, and it is fantastic.
"I think it will do well not only in Miami, but the whole United States."
