Titus Bramble is hoping for an upturn in results for Wigan Athletic after seeing the DW pitch re-laid.

The Wigan centre-back admits he will not be sorry to see the back of the old surface that made his life a misery for the past few weeks.

He told the Wigan Observer: "The old pitch was doing no one any good.

"It might have looked bad from the sidelines, but I promise you it was much worse to play on - absolutely terrible.

"You know the ball is going to bounce up but you don't know how or when, so you can't really do anything about it.

"The new pitch should help, and will hopefully suit our passing game."
