Braga 2-0 Arsenal: Matheus double stuns Gunners

BRAGA: Arsenal's weekend loss to Tottenham was compounded as they fell in the Champions League to Portuguese club Sporting Braga 2-0.

The last time these sides met, it was the Gunners who were on top of the world with a 6-0 result but the tides were turned due to a Matheus double for the home side.

Braga snatched their first goal on the break in the 83rd minute as Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Eboue was receiving treatment leaving the visitors with ten men and as Arsene Wenger's men attempted to grab a leveler, Matheus again struck on the counter to give his side a shock victory.

Braga now meet Arsenal on nine points ahead of the final group stage match on December 8 where the Gunners take on bottom-placed Partizan Belgrade at home with the Portuguese outfit meeting group leaders Shakhtar Donetsk away.
