"The season's not over yet and we can easily get dragged back into it," he told the club's official website.
"Just look at Sheffield United last year. They were safe at one stage then went on a bad run and got pulled back in.
"I wouldn't say if we win, it's done and dusted, but whoever can win will have a massive advantage going into the last games of the season, and hopefully that will be us.
"We can't take our foot off the pedal, we have got to get the points on the board, then we can start planning for next season."
