Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser collects knee strain

Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser has collected a knee injury while away with Scotland

The Daily Echo reports the Cherries winger had been set to feature in the Scots' friendly with Canada on Wednesday night, only to suffer a swollen knee on the day of the game.

And assistant boss Mark McGhee, who described Fraser as a "breath of fresh air", said the 23-year-old's availability for Sunday's crucial World Cup qualifying match with Slovenia was in the hands of the medics.

McGhee said: “Ryan will get a check tonight and the doctor will have him looked at.

“They will then make a decision on whether there is anything they can push Ryan towards, to try to get him fit.

“Or whether they should back off and send him back to Bournemouth.

“Ryan has been terrific and a breath of fresh air. He has looked terrific."
