Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma insists victory over Liverpool shouldn't have been such a surprise.
The Cherries stunned Liverpool a week after the Reds had thrashed Manchester United 7-0.
Lerma told AS: "This is the Premier and extraordinary things happen here. There are no favourites even if one set seems superior to another. I talked about it during the previous week with a Colombian friend. He reminded me of the seven that United got into and I told him they were going to lose to us. He was convinced. And that in the game of the first round at home they thrashed us 9-0.
"It was terrible but this time we had worked hard and well during the week. We were prepared.
"In football luck never hurts but we deserved it, without a doubt. We knew how to suffer when it was time but there were also occasions for us to have scored more goals. It was a well-prepared and well-executed game."
